Additional fuel tank(s) for Dakar other than Touratech ?

Thanks, although the credit for the final design goes to Ernie of overlandsolutions.com ..... Had some problems posting these three shots(and were shrunk for me by EJ in the end!) so whilst I'd like to obige with some close-ups of the top box/jerry can arrangement, it may be a while yet !

Aha! I see, it's a jerry can with a strange shaped topbox. I couldn't make it out from the other pic.
Cheers chaps.:cool:

Hi Bert,

What type of fuel cannister are you using, and how did you mount them? (Are they Touratech panniers??)

1- Yes, TT panniers but with mods to allow strapping brackets and padlock brackets- designed by me and welded by local alli-welder
2- Tank was custom made and ..errr not cheap!

Pros= neat and tidy
Cons= much much lean angle will grind its corners off
Remember that full will be 14.5Kgs or so- I used that side of case for light sleeping bag/tent etc items.

Found it easier not to unstrap but just case off and pour! best you remember a funnel....came unstuck the first time around!!
Hope this helps.
