Been bamboozled and flummoxed by google searches and 'helpful' hints from my son.
Anyway, I bought my son a new xbox 360 last week (bigger memory, didn't you know) which now means that his old xbox360 is surplus.

My tight-fisted brain kicks in now...why do I need to buy a gaming PC when I can use the xbox connected to my computer and monitor :nenau

So...how easy is it to do this?
Can an Xbox 360 be connected to my computer monitor (via computer?) so that I can use the xbox to play games?
Also, I can't get on with these new-fangled controllers - can I use my mouse and keyboard instead?

Not sure what you mean?

The Xbox will play its own games online if you have a Xbox Live subscription and it's connected to the Internet

You can output the Xbox display onto a pc monitor with a VGA adaptor instead of a tv screen.

You can't play pc based online games via your Xbox though if that's what you were asking:nenau

An Xbox will not play games as you described but your other option would be to connect the Xbox to your TV and use it to play movies, music ect.. downloaded ( legally of course) on your pc using Zune or Windows Media Player.
You can play the Xbox with a keyboard, mouse and PC monitor but you need a XIM3 adapter which is import only at the moment.

Thanks :thumb2

I think what I was trying to say was 'can my xbox play through my pc monitor?''
Thats just been answered, I think :thumb2

Went to maplins to see what they had but nothing like what I need in stock. Toys 'r us and pc world were next to useless :(

So, what eactly do I need? All I want is a cable that will connect my xbox 360 to my computer monitor.
will this work?

That cable will connect the Xbox to the monitor for the video but unless your monitor has speakers and inputs for the red and white phono plugs you will need separate speakers and possibly an adapter from the phono plugs to a single male or female jack.

Both my kids use Creative Inspire T10 Speakers for Xbox and PS3 and the sound is very good and loud enough to cause arguments.
