kawasaki KLX 650

hi all i have just aquired a klx650 basket case,i would like to ask the collective their opinion,is it worth rebuilding?are they any good as an off road bike?or should i just break it for spares and make a few quid in the process.this bike is a klx not a klr quite a few differences (though i am not sure what they are yet)thanks in advance.mike

I had a KLR600 once, it was the first bike I took two up to the Cote d'Azur.

North Wales to Nice in a day was a challenge but it did the job admirably

The KLX650 is basically the same thing but with more power. The KLR650 has the large fairing and fuel tank.

They're not too bad on reasonable trails, but like all the trail bikes of their capacity they're a lump when it gets tough.

If it were me I'd rebuild it assuming it all works of course
