Fuel RON lower in N America

Sounds like they use lower RON petrol in Alaska and Canada, maybe down to 87. As the GS1200 has knock sensors I'm assuming it will cope OK with this, has anyone run their GS on 87 RON before and did it cause any problems?

are you sure that you saw the RON octane rating? the americans use MON instead of RON. results in lower numbers for the same thing.

You are correct about RON/MON Cookie, but the buy I was talking to specifically mentioned RON not MON. I've not heard of anyone having any problems so I'm going to assume I'll be OK, especially as I'm not planning on giving it large everywhere (well thats the well intentioned plan anyway)
