Kawasaki Versys

Versys

Another long time Versys rider here. Had two of them for my wife and I since 2008. Mine is mostly used by my son now. Probably the best bike I have ever owned in terms of fun, value and reliability.

A little video we made here:

Nice vid Steve.
May well end up with one of these when funds allow, to replace my ailing 1100RT.

That is a great vid indeed.
I reckon I will have one at some stage. You can also get different pannier frames to take the older style panniers which appeals to me as I have two different sized sets.

Here is another little video, not great quality I am afraid. This was on a miserable cold day ten days ago at Three Sisters race track in Lancashire, and the light was fading. My son riding.

Shows that these things can be fun too. This bike has done about 30k miles now. The first chain lasted 23k, and apart from tyres and servicing, that is all we have spent on repairs. I have also replaced the rear shock absorber with one from an R1 to give more adjustment.

They really are feking bright and so so neat and stylish. :thumb2

....this is my 2nd Versys, both reliable, as SM, 20k on original pads and chain, no issues except a chirpy exhaust, going up 1 tooth on the gearbox sprocket makes for better/relaxed touring, it will do fairly big rides in a day if you need/want to, ive done 600 mile days in reasonable comfort, and also makes great all rounder...and pretty cheap to run, .they are a bit vibey, but about similar to the F650se twin i test rode a while back, and easy to lower if you need to

no...i suppose Uwe would have given me a go, not sure how we would have stood with ins. in Germany if i dropped a clanger (pic was near Wurtzburg) but i do like the Big V, but as you can see, i'm a short arse, its really a high bike for my stature..look at the difference in seat height........(my V is lowered)

Just fitted an MRA screen and what a difference. This is the best of all the screens that I've tried and I can happily sit (on a private road) at up to 95 with ease. It was a short road, so can't say how good it is for triple digit speeds.

Fine, 3 figure cruising no problem- had one fitted to our first Versys-slightly modified and now fitted to my KLE500.
Current Versys has MRA Vario which is better still albiet only slightly.
