Great to see these old adverts with the prices. Any idea what year this is from? My dad bought a new mk2 Le Mans from Eddys in Leeds in 1980, I think he paid £2100. I bought it off him a year later, most fun road bike I’ve ever owned. Would probably still be owning it if some f**kwit car driver hadn’t T boned me and written it (and very nearly me!) off in 1983.

Original Lemans

I certainly recall these ads and still have brochures with the same images in them. Purchased my Le Mans in 1978 from a shop in New Southgate near the North Circular Road. Paid £1,999. The blue and silver Ducati 900SS was a wee bit dearer at the time so it was the Guzzi for me. Took me to Greece and back a year later. Still sits and glowers at me from the back of the garage.

Take care boys and girls.

A bit of polishing

Can't ride the bike due to current restrictions and the fact that I've just had reconstructive ligament surgery on my left knee so got the missus to give me a hand to push the bike out the garage and got the polish out.
That's it set up in touring mode (I wish) roll on 2021 Mandello del lario 100th anniversary celebrations hopefully.

The Henry Cole Show

I was watching the Henry Cole show tonight.

When these images (bike at auction) came on screen I think I went " uuugh" .

I rewound the TV and played again, and yes, there it was... Uuugh.

Well, I mean, how pretty is this????
