my lad wants to move up from his 50cc ped to a 125 twist and go on his 17th birthday??

Does he need to retake his CBT?

i appricate he would probably need to retake if he moved to a geared bike, but not certain on twist and go??

No he definitely doesn't need to retake it. My daughter did the same.

He doesn't even need to retake it if he moves from a twist and go to a geared 125.
Hope he enjoys the new bike.

The CBT is valid for two years and there is no need to take another one in order to ride a 125 if the original CBT was completed on a moped. The DSA have been looking at bike specific CBT's for some time now, but they haven't introduced them yet.
