Jay Leno's Honda CBX

there is only one real CBx... ;)..:Motomartin

That is seriously  Found a picture of the bike on the Moto Martin website.
I am sure I heard somewhere Moto Martin were going to start building kits again?

I picked these up earlier. Still not sure about the Prolink, it's nice and will be better for distance but all the swagger has been taken out of it and it looks so sanatised alongside the Twinshock .
The gent I bought them off had to give up riding for health reasons so the bikes have been stood a couple of years. Next winter's projects I guess :blast :D

Had a run on one of those twin shock bikes about 1982 when I had an old single cam cb750f2.

I thought it was fantastic. Took it from Ards to Comber and back along the dual carriageway very flexible engine 20mph to 120mph in top gear still pulling but getting wayward. :D I think the forks were 36mm same as the 750. The 900f2c I replaced the 750 with had 38mm forks and the same fairing as the later CBX. It was a very quiet fairing 100-120 was very comfy (in a straight line) but it drank fuel :D

For charisma the MV Agusta 750s, Laverda Jota and Benelli Sei were the bike to beat and Honda just about did it with the CBX, right now I can't think of another bike since then that comes close

I was at an auction selling off a blokes estate in reading back in 1990.
Amongst all the crap were two bikes, a 1978 R80/7 and a benelli Sei, the 750cc version.
I got the R80/7 for £310, i stopped bidding on the Sei at £490, it went for £510 :blast.

I got my Prolink running back in the spring but the carbs were pouring petrol out from somewhere. So today I thought I would take the carbs off and maybe have a go at overhauling them.

Carbs off, one look and I knew straight a way I will passing them over to someone who knows what they are doing to clean and refurbish them..................... :D

Cant agree more, there is a guy on the KR1s site that , sonically cleans and refurbs twin carbs, but sextuplets , not sure what you do. Im sure there are cbx specialists out there.

Tony Foale framed CBX, mid 70s...

That is SO Mad Max! (Yes, I know they used Z1000s AND it's a racer not a road bike)

And leading link forks - unusual on a racebike.

I wondered if the bike still exists - Tony Foale has a Picasa album of his frames - found these there.

And another from what he refers to as "today" but the Norton and W reg Cortina in the background make me think it was a while ago! Love the bespoke paddock stands....
