Yamaha TTR250 expert Cheshire?

OK I am looking for someone local to me who has experience with these bikes. Also any recomendations for local ish mechanics / garages who won't rip me off or take all year for repairs if/when I need them. Just sourced a 1998 OE variant and want to make sure it is OK before I end up in the middle of nowhere with a dead donkey! Many thanks STuart

I think Bill Smiths in Chester used to bring something like these in as grey imports, I know they definately sold Yamaha Serrows as grey/parallel imports. Maybe try them.

Just do the basics.
Wheel bearings, sprockets and chain, Brake pads, maybe discs.

Any fork oil leaks?
Fork seals £40 ish !!

Only other issues may be fueling, run it and see.
Is it smoking?

Have you tried the TTR forum on yahoo? Brian Sussex set it up many moons ago and it was a mine of information. From memory there wasn't that much to go wrong, but if the starter was noisy there was potential for trouble.

Way too much. You should look to see if All Balls do a kit for your forks. You can get bushes, washers, seals and c-clips for less that £40.
