tyre fitting without pain

I have spent many an hour chasing tyre levers around the garage floor on my hands and knees as they spring out of the tire. I have tried kneeling on one side and then levering the other side, like a game of Twister.

I found this video an he made it look so easy. So I bought all the gear he had and made myself a frame.

It actually worked exactly as he did it and it was a shear delight doing it for once.

I made it from some old 50mm box section, I length of 1" steel pipe, a length of 3/8" gas pipe and the centre from a wheel clamp, simples.

Very nice, those two tyre levers left of bottom picture made in Sheffield. I made many thousand of them on a small hot forge treadle hammer when about 18 years old. The guy in the video uses smaller version TL90.They certainly do the job.
