Laverda: which is the easiest triple to own?

The 3C is also worth considering having 80 bhp to the Jotas 90 bhp . The Jota makes its extra power at 5000 rpm + so if you don't want to ride it 10/10ths then the easier going 3C could be for you . Mine still runs all the original electrics and charging system and gives no trouble but I'll upgrade them if they start playing up . Many 3C's have been upgraded to Jota spec. as its so easy so it's best to check engine/frame nos. with Richard Slater when you're buying to make sure you're not paying over the odds as 3C's are generally cheaper. (but not if you shop at "madeinitalymotorcycles" whos prices can make your eyes water , but he does sell some nice bikes !) .Here's a couple of pics of my 1974 3C to get you pondering .

Thank's for sharing all the Laverda advice and info. I reckon a later bike would suit me best. The 3C, Jarama or 1200 look great but a good RGS would be my first choice. I will watch the classifieds closely.......................:D

Benefit of the RGS is you don't have to disturb the tank bag to fuel up..

So an itch has been scratched. I picked up the RGS today.

The bike has spent much of the last 30 years parked in a collection in Northern Ireland before being sold at auction in 2008 and put back on the road a couple of years back. It has only done 8k miles and seems pretty original except for the Jota exhaust system.

I believe the original Jota was a bit of a knuckle dragging hairy chested medallion man but the RGS is something of a tame Jota with manners: a sort of sensible Jota in a jumper if you like. Either way, it is still a fine M/C

Pornography on 2 wheels!

Take my children, my sister, mother, anything, you can have BOTH kidneys and a lung too if you want but I love this bike!!!

Heres mine. We've been together since'79.

Oh bugger. The file wont upload. Bloody macs. Bloody instructions for windows!

Can anyone point me to ....oh forget it. People would only go on about the rusty discs blah blahhttp://www.ukgser.com/forums/images/smilies/beer.gif

Thanks Rob for great Laverda info....best I've found tonight just having come from seeing (potentially) my next Laverda.....

However, I'm a bit scared!!! I co-owned a 3CL for a number of years - loved it......then because we were sharing we decided to buy another and ended up with a Corsa - hated it, and now I have the opportunity to buy a fairly untidy Jota (1980?, first of the faired models).

How would you rate it as a one day a week ride to work, occasional week-end ride? That's the easy question...I'm scared that the reputation it has may lead to it being "too much bike" for my needs.....or does owning one of these things really cure my Laverda itch once and for all :)

Would like to hear any comment from EKIMYRF as well....ie: any Green Jarama models likely to be for sale in OZ???

Cheers - Peter
