BMW Motorrad Navigator Adventure opens new frontiers for motorcycle riders.

Rugged all-terrain sat-nav is ideally suited to adventure motorcycling and travelling off the beaten track.

BMW Motorrad has introduced the new BMW Motorrad Navigator Adventure: a rugged, impact and water-resistant motorcycle navigation system which is ideal for adventurous riders and travellers.

The new Navigator Adventure combines full motorcycle and car navigational features with the flexibility to support outdoor pursuits and adventure sports such as sailing, hiking and climbing.

BMW Motorrad Navigator Adventure highlights at a glance:

  • Waterproof, impact-resistant system offering turn-by-turn navigation in Europe, including a database of thousands of points of interest.
  • A bright, glove-friendly four-inch touchscreen with portrait and landscape modes.
  • Customisable menus and controls for easy use on-the-move. Free map updates for life.
  • Built-in compass and altimeter offering precision location data.
  • Suitable for non-road based travel, including support for topographical and sailing maps.
  • Rechargeable lithium-ion battery lasts for up to 16 hours when disconnected from the motorcycle – and can also run on standard AA batteries.

Featuring the latest generation navigation software and significantly long battery life, the Navigator Adventure is a versatile motorcycle GPS navigation system that also can be taken away from the vehicle and used for a host of outdoor activities.

In addition, BMW Motorrad UK is offering free lifetime map updates, ensuring that the Navigator Adventure will be useful and accurate wherever and whenever riders find themselves using it.

A bright, glove-friendly four-inch touchscreen, which can switch between landscape and portrait orientations, features new fully-customisable options and menus. Riders can choose the options most useful for their own riding and needs, making them instantly selectable even while on the move or wearing motorcycle gloves.

When not connected to the motorcycle, the Navigator Adventure can last up to 16 hours thanks to a rechargeable lithium-ion battery pack. In addition, conventional AA batteries can be used as a backup for longer adventures and expeditions.

For outdoor activities, such as mountaineering, hiking, sailing or greenlaning, the BMW Motorrad Navigator Adventure has an integrated electronic 3-axis compass with incline correction and a barometric altimeter.

The BMW Motorrad Navigator Adventure, which has a waterproof housing, allows data such as waypoints, tracks and routes to be stored, so that activities can be recreated or reviewed at a later date. A MicroSD card slot also allows extra space for storage as well as additional non-road based map data, such as topographical and nautical maps for hiking or sailing.

The BMW Motorrad Navigator can be used as an alternative to the Navigator IV on all BMW motorcycles, except the new R 1200 GS, the K 1600 GT and the K 1600 GTL which feature unique integrated mounts for the Navigator IV.

The Navigator Adventure costs £565 inc VAT. It is also available as part of the new F 800 GS Adventure ‘Launch Pack’ which features aluminium panniers, top case and the Navigator Adventure – at a saving of 20% if ordered before 30 June 2013.
