Has anyone travelled in Karelia? I am looking at traveling to Medvozhyegorsk next year.
I can do this trip by plane and train but am looking at the taking a month off work and riding.
Has anyone travel via Finland using the ferrys or gone across the continent?
My first stop initially would be St Petersburg so I can pick up the North bound road. How goods the road? Petrol availabilty?
Any suggestions / best practice of getting there in one piece.
I have contacts for visa and letter of invitation etc so thats covered, thanks for the sticky.
