A mate had his two year old GSXR1000-K5 stolen whilst touring in Nice.
He was away from his bike for about 30 seconds.

If he only left it for 30 seconds he must have left the engine running.
He was walking towards a group of mates in a cafe after parking up, turned around to glance at his bike and saw it disappearing into a side street, never to be seen again. He had a miserable flight home instead of enjoying the tour.

I use the same car park regularly and chain the bike to a concreted in security hoop. But that’s just a mild steel tube and would be easily cut with a builder’s Stihl saw. As would the chain TBH.
It stops joy riders, but tooled up professionals will have it away before anyone notices what’s going on.
