Mines booked in next friday for 24k service and drive bearings, Paul sounds like a decent chap and also offered me 10% discount on labour.

Just had my R1200GSA serviced (41K) by Paul. http://www.theworkshopyork.com

Easy to get to, just off the ring road on the north side of York, on a small quiet business park.

Paul's workshop set-up encourages you to sit in a comfy chair (cuppa too!) and watch the service as it takes place. You can see immediately the care and attention to detail lavished on your steed. Care is taken at every stage, quality oil used (let's not go into the detail of what it is - suffice to say it is a 'recommended' oil ). Paul takes his time and there's no sense of rush, 3.5 hours later and I'm on my way again.

Overall this was a good experience with entirely reasonable charges, local (for me) and means that I don't have to go to my next chosen service venue (Rainbow or Adventure Bike Warehouse) so real savings in time and travel costs there then. This part of Yorkshire really needs this venue!

I feel the need to resurrect this thread after a visit .

I wanted my brake fluid flushing ( a job I loath doing myself ). Paul did this and had the pads out to clean everything up,as well as running a diagnostic check, clearing 2 errors and re setting the service light. I also bought an air and oil filter from him , all for a very reasonable price.
It's an ideal place for me as I'm a 20 min ride away but Paul says his customer base is expanding with people travelling a fair distance for his very professional and friendly service , which to me speaks volumes.

If anyone has to leave their bike there for a couple of hours, I can highly recommend "Luigi's" italian restaurant next to the Garden centre. The diavola Pizza or Lasagne are both lovely!

Just picked up on this thread, this is great news having an independent in N Yorks, and even better news that he is only a mile away from me.

And it's right next to the Park and Ride so you can get into town easily. Only an hour to walk in if you are feeling energetic. National railway museum good for a look around and it's free to get in.... but you do get shoved into a Q to get in and pestered for a 'donation'

    Just To tip me hat

Had fuel filter and a TB balance done today at Paul's, what a great service.....diagnostic machine plugged in straight away.....Bike was running like a bag of nails...needless to sayI've just done a 40 mile blast to do a 7 mile trip home...

Great price and no VAT..... which makes a difference......

My GSA is taking a bit longer to sort than hoped (not Paul's fault) and as I am off to Scotland on Thursday I needed to get the wife's ER6F serviced and MOT'd so I could use it instead. I called Paul on Friday to see if he could squeeze it in before Thursday and he said although busy he would do it between other jobs. I dropped it off first thing Sat morning and by half 6 Saturday night he called to let me know I could collect it whenever I like. Top service.

Just got back from collecting it between day and night shifts. Back the long way round via Squires, Selby, Pocklington, Full Sutton, Strensall...
It's no GS, but it will be a hoot round the Borders for a long weekend.
