It officially opened on 1st July - though with the rain down here in Brasov I would not want to be on it today!

It was closed 400m from the tunnel on the southern side on Saturday 31 May but was completely open on Thursday 19 June although not at all pleasant in heavy rain and low cloud.

Ther is a nice road,on the other side of the lake,when you ride up to Transfagarasan,,.

Noticed the tourist web site gave closure details for this and the Transalpina road, looked like they were closed from 12.00 onwards, is this for roadworks. Im planning on visiting June/July this year.
