recently acquired but without a key (or V5 ) ..

any idea's on 'hotwiring' it so that i can test /assess the motor.
i have a new battery fitted , and , according to the Haynes i have, the switch wires are red and black through the switch. I have bypassed the Ign switch with the red / black by connecting them together and checked the fuses, but alas no neutral light, no horn, no sparky on the kicker!!

Where have i gone wrong? :aidan

ta!

Ignition

Hope I am not telling stuff you do not already know
You only need to Disconnect the black and white from the ign switch . The CG is/has self generating ign.
The switch grounds out the ign circuit. Via the green (earth)
The red is 6V battery power in black is 6V battery out
No spark after this check the points under flywheel also wiring from flywheel coils to ign coil.

cheers guys...

i'll get down to the bike ( like an absent child, it doesn't live with me!) and try the above out.
I checked the main fuse ---- it was fitted with a MK 13amp household type fuse!! :)
