Paint jobs - Please take a look.

I've named this tank Green BMWasaki .... :blast

It was in a bit of a state when it arrived but some TLC has turned it around.

Mikey wanted the tank badged to be painted on, I certainly wasn't going to say no! :D
When Mike came down we agreed a colour which was ... ok I guess. Just a metallic BR Green. I called him today and asked if I could do something a bit more special. It looks really cool in the booth under the strip lights, then I shone my torch across it and BOOM!!!

It's had it's 1st three coats of clear, It'll bake off over night in the booth then tomorrow I'll flat it back and give it another three.

Pikes Peak

Anyone that's read Dave Double D Ding Dong's Multistrada Pkes Peak thread will have already seen these pics, for everyone else ... enjoy!

Dave brought the bike to me in a van directly from the dealer, still unregistered with 3 miles on the clock.
He stripped all the bodywork from it and left me to it!

This is just like watching a thing of beauty unfold in front of you eyes , crysallis to butterfly springs to mind. Chris your work is stunning end of.

I have posted this up as a separate project thread ..

I have posted this up as a separate project thread but I wanted a record of it in this thread ...

As some of you may know I've started writing regular articles in the workshop section of Motorcycle Sport & Leisure Magazine. The editor John is building their long term project bike. It's a Yamaha XSR700 which he's named "Cada Dia" which is Spanish for "Every Day" The premise for the bike is to fit in with Yamaha's 'Yard Built' theme, essentially taking one of their bikes and making it your own using aftermarket parts but without resorting to cutting or welding to any extent. It's a custom bike that anyone can build. The idea is that Yamaha display this bike next to a standard version in order to demonstrate how easily one can create their own bike. "Here's the standard bike but with a few mods and accessories you could make it look like this"

John emailed me earlier this year and asked if I'd do the paint on his project bike.

This Particular bike is going to be on display on the Yamaha stand at the NEC bike show in November .... No pressure then!!

Here it is when it arrived ....

So I stripped it down, prepped it and painted the base coat. It's an off white metallic ..

Let the fun begin! As always, it's all paint, no vinyl or stickers!

Stunning as always. I always look to see for your updates and this doesn't disappoint.

Mick is somewhat of a connoisseur of Two Stroke Triple Kawasakis.

He owns a few and has amassed a fairly substantial stock of spares, so much so that he has enough to build a bike out of all of them!

Candy apple green frame, tuned engine and all the things he'd wanted to do but didn't want to modify an original genuine bike.

Here are the photos of my input on the project .....

The green is a custom candy and the black is a multi tex metallic. The grey is an Audi colour but works really well against the black. Sadly the photos don't really show the full effect.

Great work as ever Chris. Personally I would not have gone fore a green frame , I feel it detracts from yoyur work on the tank and side panels.
Ps I saw Skid06 work with the mamola paint job at Dent. I just had to stroke it.....

The frame was already powder coated before Mike brought me the bits for paint. I take your point but I do like it, each to their own, it'd be a dull place of we all liked the same thing.

Ah so Skid still has his GS, I'd heard a rumour that he was thinking of selling it! It's a nice bike is that!

I think that metallic grey on the Kawasaki tank looks great - must be fantastic in the sunshine.

Any idea what those wheels are off?

PG

Lovely paint jobs there, def tempting if your wanting a new scheme.
