Paint jobs - Please take a look.

Your design....very nice, yet subtle

His choice....simple, boring

The yellow running along the bottom towards the tank just doesn't work.

Yep, definitely agree with everyone else the 'initiative' speed block version was best. :thumb2

"I'm not a fabricator or anything ...."

This particular chap used to work for DEP exhausts. He approached me to paint this tank before he started to work on it. His intention being to modify the rear of the tank to make it slimmer. He wanted me to make good his modification work and paint the tank etc.

I anticipated the worst and hoped for the best. One man's good fabrication is another man's pissed sheet metal and pigeon shit welding. Imagine my delight when he walked in with the tank, he presented it to me apologetically saying "Sorry about the state of it ... I'm not a fabricator or anything"

It had been beautifully fabricated and beautifully welded. I said "I've seen time served sheet metal guys struggle to turn out work like this" :bow

Anyway ..... I set to work ;)

The numerous photos pretty much speak for themselves!

Gets boring this Chris................Absolutely Stunning, it must be the equivalent of watching paint porn!

Lovely work Chris, and congrats on the front cover.

Methinks I need to get another bike for you to paint.................. ;)

You can imagine how much I like that Ducati tank. :drool

How much lacquer did it require, to get that depth of shine?

I'd love to see it fitted to the bike, BTW, if you ever get the chance to photograph that.

Hi Chris. Just emailed you re painting wheels for Sues bike. We went over to Matlock Bath today, big local bike meet, for a bit of a ride. Sue had the panniers you painted on the R and loads of compliments about finish and how they looked. Must have told a dozen people your web site address. As if you wern't busy enough :thumb

That 'candy' orange (is candy the right term?) looks lovely, I bet it looks great out in sunlight :)

Andres

It's not quite a candy but it is a 3 stage pearl so not dissimilar. It's not easy to apply but it's worth it. You're right about the sunlight, it's like it's on fire. A beautiful colour indeed!
