I have got a 87 k75 with a stiff clutch I put a new ultra light cable on the bike still stiff is this normal for old bikes.

John either the cable route is bad and you have a kink in it

OR behind the gearbox there is the clutch lever In BMW's infinite wisdom it is a steel pivot bar with 2 x roller bearings in an alloy arm Which as you can probably guess corrode up

best way is to use an aerosol wet chain grease (my favourite is Silkolene seems to work best for me) and operate the lever while someone doses the gaps at either side with the wet grease and just work it for a while

Try that and see what happens

P.S. Do Not Smack the pivot rod with a chisel to try and get it out to replace the bearings You will break the lugs on the back of the box

Use a hacksaw or a very fine cutting disc and cut through the bar and remove backwards away from the box
