Clinging to reality by a finger tip.
My butane/propane blow torch just don't cut the mustard any more. What with bolts Loctited into monster pieces of ally and all.

I've read about Mapp gas and I'm wondering is it really worth 'upgrading', does it really supply more heat?

Are there any other options worth considering?

Need to do something 'cause buying torq sockets isn't cheap.

Thanks.

Mapp gas in air temperature 2,020 °C, propane/butane mix in air temp 1970 °C, so yes it is hotter but only slightly. It does make a vast difference when using it though. Mapp gas for me all day long.

It doesn't have to end with a blob of molten aluminium!
