Fuck em.
1) I need to sit on my bike to ensure I brim it (sportsbike) as I need to keep it upright. I'll take the chance that I splash myself with fuel.
2) I always take helmet off before paying as a courtesy, but if a garage insisted I took it off before I refuelled I would deliberately place it in the shop, go back, fill up, then once paid make sure whatever the helmet was sitting on would fall over with as much carnage as possible.
Shell garage stopped me filling up my car as I reversed to the pump as all the others were full, and said they wouldnt allow it because of H&S, complete bollox, and stood there arguing the point and all they could say is H&S without answering why (Shell in Radcliffe on Trent, Nottingham).
