Today I have been mostly exploring byways

Hey Clive - could you share the WP list and the track logs with us? May be in a text format that can be read by other Nav programs (in my case TTQV)? What are you using anyway?

Thanks!
Roland

I'm using a BMW Navigator II.

Hopefully you can read a .gpx file (which is basically just XML text anyway)

For info (assuming you see the same waypoint symbols) - the "ballpark" icons are ones I have actually visited and been down so should be position accurate.

The others should be assumed as best guesses taken from Explorer maps against Mapsource, although some I have actually visited and taken a "Mark" against, but couldn't travel yet due to e.g. Voluntary Restrictions.

There are a few around Farley Hill I hope to try this Friday/Weekend, now I have TKC80s fitted :) , if you are interested in some company ?

Thanks very much - I haven't tested it yet but it should work.

Sadly I can not plan ahead for the weekend but I will post short term - probably Saturday morning/ Friday evening if I have a couple of spare hours...

Clive - How about some exploring/ BWRiding on Sunday morning?
I will only have a couple of hours - but I bring my GPS so I find my way home on my own anyway :)

Shall we meet at 9:30 on the parking place of the Poachers (behind the Moat House Hotel)?

Have you got Tourances on ? - SWMBO and I walked BW030b-BW030c a few days ago and it's got some quite, erm, interesting bits

Sunday 10th April 2005

Roland and I had a fairly early start at 9.30 and managed to squeeze these in within the 2 hours

Edit: Forgot to mention BW035-BW036 has a voluntary restriction that runs out at the end of May 2005 - the bit we could see looked quite chopped up.

Almost a RUPP too far

The first part of RUPP004-RUPP005 was potholed tarmac- then we got to this - we couldn't see the end of it but decided to try it anyway

Lots of both feet down action, then I saw a particularly deep hole on my "rut" (Roland had taken the left hand rut, probably a better idea), so I thought I'd try and go around it - there is obviously a trick to getting out of ruts - this isn't it :)

Reaching a slight incline, the ruts started getting deeper - I thought I'd pose for the traditional "Look Mum, no stands" joke  - this took us a while to get out of :(

Thanks for the excellent ride!

It is an honour to have my bike full of your mud ;-)

Tuesday 12th April 2005

On the way home from work yesterday I found a ford not listed on Wetroads, so today I went to take a few photos - seemed a shame not to explore a few more tracks ;)
