Hey Tuned In - have you tried Metal Mule? I got a full set of their panniers & top box last month and it's absolutely top quality. I've just come back from a 3 week trip with them and they are the bizz.
Highly recommended!

To be honest Al jessies would be my first choice from off the shelf manufactures..i like the way they mount and lock and hinge... so neat and great looking... their top box is what i would like
the biggest one if the price list is right is £250 here in europe

But i think Civils panniers would be stronger...they might even be on a par with the strength that Verns most clearly have and that strength having been proved by Fanum and others.

I just don't like the look of metal mule :( sorry

Aesthetics plays a part too I agree. In fact when i was looking for my set I immediately discarded Jesses, Vern's & Civil's on looks alone. It was only ever going to be TT or Metal Mule.
Horses for courses I suppose.

I know !

So I email's Civil a week or so ago. I says "I'm interested in having them powder coated black, quote me" and he talks me out of it!

I honestly have talked so many people out of having em powder coated black.
I never thought they would look soooo goood !
I do feel Guilty {a bit} .

These panniers are comparable to the BEST.
Once again they are welded "N" folded
There are No RIVETTS OR BITS GLUED ON.

You probably win, you sod, based on those pictures alone. I'll be back asking for a revised quote soon :)

You ever thought of making that finish a unique selling point? "Everyone can supply you in silver, CajaSahel can match your bike"

Saw some of civils panniers at princetown -

very well made, and look very very strong and solid -

very immpressed :thumb

Me too. Just needs quick-release fittings and they'd be spot on.

Civil are you selling the mounting brackets powder coated as standard or is that extra ££££s?

Another question ... are mods needed to the stock rear indicators ... ie do they need to be shortened?

Gunk !

As i have said , i have changed my Powder coater ,
this wee guy seems to be interested in what i want to do , the image
that i want to portray for the Panniers
and hence the finnish was instantly better , the next few people that order
a Black set will be very impressed with the Finnish , cos its simply brill.
Its almost as Good as a High quality car paint finnish.
This was a wee experiment on my part and at my expence , to investigate
just what can be achieved. The Cost is a Bit prohibitive for this finnish.
But if you want it you can have it.
For me the Std Powder coating is very Good.
The Frames were part of the experiment , but again a Base powder coat
is more than enough.
No its not Std / As Std you get your Frames Painted cellouse two pack.

The Indicators do need to be shortened. Its very simple. Just cut away
the flexi rubber bit and save the Threaded bar. I have pictures i can send
