So just doing my renewal... thought I would fess up to bar risers and some very nice graphics... Bar risers are in some cases ok as long as dealer fitted and manufacture approved - cool... however difference between no graphics and graphics???

No Graphics - cheapest £100.16
Graphics- cheapest £260.13

so these graphics are going to cost £160 EXTRA on insurance - fucking joke

Insurance companies are ........................................................ Fill in your own comments (after 30 years of dealing with them I know exactly what they are )

Why on earth would you tell your insurance company about some stickers?:blast

How much did these graphics cost?

I presume if you crashed the bike then you would want them replaced.

Perhaps that is the reason for the increase

If they want £160 more year on year I could afford to get a custom spray job! On top of that they have had no sight of them or the cost...

Graphics can make a bike more attractive to thieves, but in your case I don't think that will be a problem :)

Graphics make a bike far less attractive to thieves

Much more identifiable 'out there' on the street ... can only be good :thumb

Reminds me of a local farmer who had a couple of quads nicked along with their trailers , advised him to paint them a less attractive colour so they would stand out, he painted the replacements bright pink, his neighbouring farmers ripped the piss out of him but the quads never got touched. Thing is that with bikes we would get them back on a regular basis and without numbers they were all but impossible to identify, however , the ones that the owners had modified -even if it was only with paint or graphics were usually identified. Bikes stolen from foreign tourists were usually the easiest because of the non UK spec paint

Exactly ! My van quote is substantially less with graphics than without.
