Keep an eye on the bush behind the countershaft sprocket. Corrosion can lead to premature seal failure and engine seizure. A new oem bush is about £15, so cheap enough, and if you change it at every two front sprocket changes then you should be fine.

Yes you're quite right. I have a stainless replacement ready to go in:D
 
Did you buy the kickstart kit as a complete kit or have you made it up from the DRZ400 parts fiche?
 
Fair play fella, you have built a nice little bike there....very very capable touring bike, ideal for national roads and gravel trails.
What final drive gearing are you going to run?
