A bit of write off valuation advice

It's back!

AJ have done a wonderful job and I went to pick it up yesterday, probably a bad decision as the rain started when I got of the train at Shipley so the ride home was interesting, I knew about the flooding at Buckden but its never very deep then parts of Bishopdale were a bit fraught but the white lines when they are were easy to see under the water but i never expected the road along from West Burton to be so bad! The rain and wind was really bad and I was struggling to see over about 25 yds, I saw the road was covered in water and two cars in it but went into it, when the lines started to disappear I twigged that the 2 cars were flooded and the water was up to the top of the wheels so up on the pegs and out the other end with a smile and a crowd of flooded drivers open mouthed.

Oh it's good to have it back!!!

Yes cracking news....

Just thought I'd a post in here as the final part has fallen into place.

The Bike. The final bill for the insurers after my excess of £200 was £3700+Vat and it's good to see insurers understanding the value of these. My Policy is with Ageas through Carole Nash, CN wanted me to have there repair people fix it but I just asked them if it could go to AJ and the only stipulation was i had to deliver and collect it.

Kit. I had no cover with the bike insurance but phoned my home insurer who just wanted to see quote from AJ for replacement kit, I was surprised when I had a call within 20 mins of sending them an email saying they would credit the account I pay my premiums from with the full amount amount within 24 hrs. An RSA policy through LLoyds bank

Me. Well, the guy who fell off after me sent me a message that night and gave me a number to phone, so after 7 months, a couple of forms and an interview I now have a cheque for £2250 which has surprised me. Kyle from Sorrymate.com put in a claim on my behalf to the MIB and took 20% for doing so.

So it's off to the Wyvill Arms for a steak this week!

I don't work for or endorse any of the above firms but thought it worth saying that they've all been good sorting me out after my tumble.

He had been and gone, Swimbo is a "team leader" in one of the more specialised sections at Newby Wiske, her boss a Chief Super gave someone a F***ing this morning over the lack of involvement yesterday.

Did you from the other chap if he had been in contact with the police regarding his accident which if I am reading it correctly occurred after they had been and gone?

Sorry didn't quite understand that one.

Interested what sorrymate was claiming for on your behalf, I'm awaiting the outcome of a no-fault accident myself.

They said initially that the max I was likely to get was £500 as the rules changed I think in Aug last year and they would no longer pay out for vehicle repairs as I was fully comp. I was rather battered and bruised and that's what the money was for, the MIB were quick and in early Dec said even though they couldn't trace the person that dumped the oil they would accept liability for it, I then had a medical and gave the doctor pictures of all the stages of bruising which he attached his report. Pictures are the key to everything and I gave them lots.

Just to pick up on an earlier question, have you had any joy from North Yorkshire Police? The point being if they have attended a scene and found there to be a situation which would potentially endanger other road users if it is left as it is, then it is their duty to ensure that situation is rectified. The accepted practice being to remain at the scene and safeguard against further incidents until it is. If they haven't done this then they have been negligent . Someone needs a new arsehole reaming for this, it's terrible.
