If my experience of KTM's is anything to go by, it'll be engaging and full of character but ultimately lacking the top end rush of the XR. A trade off I think I'd happily live with. (Not that I'm in the market for either bike!!)
 
My mate has got the new R1 and can't believe I'm stuck to his back wheel when we have a mad moment. He has had a go on it and couldn't get over how quick it is and the sound it makes. Oh and he wants one
It's not the fact it's a bloody quick bike it's that it can do it all, tour, nip into town race round a track what more do you want from a bike I love it.
