Weathers kinda nice - time to ride!

sorry for the hijack and probably a stupid question but that is my speciality. so-- f800 v vstrom1000, opinion please. tia, jags.

. . . . . you looked like sh*t today - Sue said so anyway ;-) !!!
I guess my time at charm school was wasted on yer sister then?

Iain, - he's right on both counts, so I really can't argue with him on those comments :D

Jags - F8GS makes doing certain things easy, whilst the Strom does other things slightly better than the F8GS . . . . . . . . but . . . . . . . and I've been asked this question before . . . . . . . .

If I could have only one bike (never going to happen, so this is all hyperthetical!) it would be the F8GS. Thats as of now, whilst my failing shell can still manage to do the things my strange mind wants it to do.

All things change with time and changing ability levels, but whilst I'm still able to make an arse of meself, the F8GS would, hyperthetically, be my one and only bike .

I thought you said you knew my sister Steve, your memory must be failing ...

Lesson 1: Don't mention the dog being oveweight and 'needy' - Fail :)
Lesson 2: Don't mention the grey/strawberry blonde/white hair - Fail :)
Lesson 3: Don't mention Dave... - Phew, not failed... Yet! ;-)

She's as typical a 'big' sister as you will find, but I love her (and her chubby/demanding dog, silver hair and stroppy husband!)...

No. photobucket decided that it wanted $400 off anyone who had an acct with them or it froze their respective photos use... It has cocked up thousands of threads on thousands of forums

I use Mozilla Firefox as my browser, and they have a "fix" that allows photofu*kit pictures to be viewed. Cannot for the life of me remember where I saw the fix "advertised" or what it is called, but it is out there, somewhere.

Took a run up north . . . . . for a change

Not been under canvas since May, so late Friday afternoon decided to head north, just cos I could :D.

Had planned to wild camp but couldn’t think of anywhere suitable on my planned route, so Durness campsite it was for the night.

Some photo’s from my journey north, in varied weather (meaning rain and sun in varying amounts – fortunately mainly sun)

Quite-ish night followed by an early start – here’s my breakfast welcoming the dawn

Had the road virtually to myself, so I put-put-putted along taking in the growing rays of the sun on the various hills I rode past.

Enjoyed a game of chase with some sports bikes that set off from Durness after me – they over-took me, then slowed down to allow a mate to catch up, so I over took them. Then they whizzed past me again when their mate had caught them up. I tootled on, stopping for photo’s here and there, only to have them wiz past me again when I stopped to take this photo at Gruinard Bay. Caught up with them again at Aultbae where they were having a fag next to the NATO fuelling dump!

Fantastic 24hrs out of the house, covering a little over 400 miles, with the Strom averaging over 65mpg – I must have been going reet slow – moving average speed for the whole trip was just under 43mph, so not that slow really
