6,000 mile service at Cotswold Motoradd.

This week I had my R1200R lc in to Cotswold for it's 6,000 mile service also paid a very modest amount extra to have the final drive oil changed(just being prudent).
Had new tyres fitted too (PR4's) love how these tyres feel, very confidence inspiring and a lovely transition when leaning over into the bends!
Bike is running supremely smoothly and so quiet a real pleasure to ride, those who think the R1200R is the poor relation should maybe try one
When I collected the bike it looked like new again, very happy.
Thanks Nick and the guys, a good job very well done.

PS being presented with a bill which matches the estimate exactly is always a bonus (I doubt any of us like hidden extras).

    cheers

I had just been quoted by Cotswold Motorad £180 for 6k service which included engine oil change , brake fluid change and not final drive oil change that will be done at 12k service and brake fluid at 18k. So final drive oil every 12k. Quoted by Nick service manager
Nick - can you bring some clarity to what 'should' be included in a 6,000 mile service and what is 'advised'. I'm sure you've seen the other thread about 6,000 mile services. Both Midlands dealers I have spoken to say FD oil should be changed. It seems Cotswold doesn't.

Surely all BMW dealers should do the same in terms of standard servicing!

The owners manual and the BMW disk I bought which shows how to do everything and lists what needs to be done and when say FD oill should be changed every 12,000 miles. However, because of the state of the oil that came out of my FD after 11,000 miles I will now be changing it at the same time as the engine oil ie every 6,000 miles
