Great project!

I'm intrigued at your hoist setup.

I see you are using the Eazy Rizer Big Blue Professional. With some adaptor plates mounted to the engine casing. It looks like you are using the standard foot peg adaptor kit with some additional fabricated parts to mount to the front of the engine casing. It's not clear where you secure at the rear of the engine block. Some more photos would be appreciated.

How do you find the hoist with the bike raised. Is it stable?

Looking very nice Tufty, imo best of the modern gs to keep. Mikes doing a lovely job. :beerjug:
Btw when are you next there. I'd like to see it/ you and chat to Mike about some work on mine.

FD, you’d best arrange with Mike, however, I’m around next week apart from Wednesday. Be good to see you.

By the way, Mike is doing a lovely job. He’s got a reputation for it, as you know. :)

I can't believe that's the bike I saw on the service day back in late March. It looks amazing!

Have the wheels been powder coated and re-built? (Along with a load of other parts powder coated, of course).

Looks close to completion

It does look great. I’m really pleased with it so far. The bike had suffered a lot of corrosion so pretty much everything has been repainted except the yellow bits. The entire frame has been powder coated, along with the barrels, heads and covers, and the gearbox.

The main engine block has been spray painted, as not much of it is actually on display once rebuilt, and apparently it’s a massive task to strip and rebuild. I was happy to follow Mike’s lead on this.

The wheel rims and hubs have been powder coated and rebuilt. The handlebars were cleaned and painted, and gone to a new home, Mike’s fitted some Renthal bars with a modification for the heated grip wiring.

Like you say, near completion, however, I’m happy riding my 1200 until Spring.

Looking good. When is it going to be ready?

C

Hello, HNY.

It'll be ready when Mike says so. As it was an unplanned job, so to speak, I think he fits it in around his other jobs whilst he's waiting for parts etc.

Although, it does seem to get more parts added to it in spurts and at some point it will start getting in his way.

I'm not desperate, and frankly, I need to sell my 1200 as soon as the 1150 is ready.

We should plan an 1150 weekend out!

I can believe one of your own wheels would be in such a state as to require this treatment John

A careless numpty owner before me:blast

Rear Hub could do with a silver repaint, not bad but 'bugs' me - rim and spokes are fine though

Front wheel is fine

Other GSA has mint wheels:D

Hey Tufty

That looks ace. Don't let Mike park it next to my 1100, I wouldn't like your bike to be shown up :jes:jes
Love those wheels :thumb2

I shan't worry about that. As long as it's finished before your Hipster Special. :hide

1150 ride out, I should say so...when you are ready.

Coming on really well - love the wheels too and interesting to note that Mike can work on BMW cross spokes. I thought there was only one place in the country that could do that.

Out of interest - what was the original 1150 project that was too costly to pursue. Just interested....
