As the title says, so how do I turn photos around 90 degrees from sideways to vertical? looked all round but, so, brain failure has occured!!, running windows 8.1 crap) any piss taking welcome plus a bit of advice would be good!!.

Click and open picture in the image viewer and there should be a rotate arrows button

Have you got "Paint" on your computer? mouse over picture, right click, open with, "Paint", paint will open with your picture, select rotate, 4th in from left on toolbar, rotate to your desired, select save as on left name and save to desktop, probably best as jpg.

Try right-clicking. Under Vista (I've never tried Win*) there are options to rotate clockwise and anti-clockwise.

Download free IrfanView, you can do anything with pictures easily
Just turn the screen, I find that works just as well as anything else 
in the picture thats been posted you can see to two arrows next to the red cross on the right, one will rotate left the other right click one and wait a few seconds and if it went the wrong way use the other arrow. hope this helps.
