Don't supposed I've done too bad-72000 before the classic "unglued magnet" in the original valeo.Just wondering what you guys are fitting these days?

I got replacement parts from Euromotoelectrics.com in the USA
easy, simple, had the specific parts needed

Mine went at the end of May slightly less mileage than yours. Phoned Motorworks and bought a new one from them, no idea what make it is but I needed it quickly. Also fitted the jump start kit at the same time.

When the magnets came loose on my original unit after about 45000 miles I bought a cheap Chinese made one from German eBay. Seemed like a good idea at the time but it only lasted a few thousand before letting me down on a trip this year. The casting holding the bendix blew apart and deposited itself all over the inside of the bell housing.

I now have a new Valeo OEM unit fitted which I bought from Motobins a few weeks ago. Cost about £180 but seems much better quality. I guess you get what you pay for.

Thanks for all the info chaps, looks like I'll be ordering just the housing from the u.s. Every thing else is in good nick.
