    Interesting places Newcastle

Hi all, will have 2 free days in NE10 and looking for anything interesting to do/eat. Won't be on the bike sadly.
Any decent bike shops around the area worth visiting..maybe within a 50mile radius? Looking for junior's riding gear.

Westgate Road, still about 9 or 10 bike shops within 150 yards............... KTM/Kawasaki/Suzuki, plus Custom Lids, AZ Stickers ,Hunters and a breakers shop plus a couple of others .
Also a couple of decent cafes (Italian cafe is well worth popping in to ) and a chip shop
Honda dealership is about 10 minutes walk away

The Engineering and Science museum is on Blandford Place right beside the bike shops (its free) , worth a walk down to the Quayside and you are close to Hadrians Wall and Roman museums at both Wallsend and South Shields. Castle Keep worth a look and the Metro system makes it easier to get further afield.
Not far from Beamish museum and Tanfield steam railway etc
Worth a wander around the city centre for the area around Grey Street
