I've found it! The holy grail in chain lube!

I used this PTFE lub on the last chain drive bike I had (Triumph Tiger 800xc) & found it to be very good. The only downside I found was that it didnt seem to prevent corrosion & the outer link plates went rusty. I resorted to the occasional wipe with scottoil oil. Could have been the quality of the chain or not re-applying often enough or after a wet ride? See how you get on with it.

Chain saw oil is great for anti corrosion and will polymerise after a while so really stays stuck. It's cheap as well.

Thanks Nutty, Brilliant stuff :D I cleaned and lubed the chain on my Africa Twin yesterday ,amazed how it cleaned up, just hope this lube stays on the chain instead of my number plate,

Just to resurrect a thread, based on a few positive comments about SDOC in this thread I tried a can of SDOC cleaner and white spray and have been totally impressed by a) how clean the chain is when you use the cleaner and b) the lack of fling-off. Just purchased a 6 can pack (3 cans cleaner and 3 cans of white lube) as its by some margin the best stuff I have used. No idea how well it actually lubes the chain but time will tell Im sure.

So thanks Nutty & Redrick :beerjug:

What on earth do you use to degrease the sprocket, wheel and chain guard? That looks like it came straight out off the showroom.

Oh didnt know that !

Yes they dont tell you that

On paper it looks a good bit of kit as it does 3 sides at a time but the bristles are very stiff and harsh.

The SDOC chain cleaner is bloody brilliant stuff and once you have sprayed it on just use a paint brush to agitate it a bit, leave it for 10 minutes and hose it off !

I tend to dry the chain with a cloth afterwards before re applying lube.

Graet stuff, looks like ive wasted £2.80 then :green gri :augie

The problem with sticky, non-fling chain lube is all the dust and crap off the road sticks to it and forms a nice grinding paste. I'll have a chain oiler any day and put up with the fling.
