I've found it! The holy grail in chain lube!

I've ordered some so will hold you responsible for it's performance or lack of ;)

Andres

Likewise! Just degreased, so will apply lube later tonight and report back next week. :)

Oh no! I'm off on holiday next week, not sure where yet, it's kind of a last minute thing!:D

3 man, Milky is the biggest hippy going (and he rides a KTM)!

WTF? Hippy, moi. No chance you lettuce smoking lentil hugger. I'm a rufty tufty meat eating fat boy.... with a nice sticky chain!

Finally, after trying just about every chain lube that guarantees "no flick", I've actually found one that doesn't flick. At all. Nothing!

500 miles since I applied it, ridden in rain, triple figure speeds (all in the name of testing :green gri), and there was not one spot of chain lube on the rear wheel before I washed the bike today.

And the winner is........

SDOC100 White chain spray.

I'm extremely impressed. I'd normally have to spend time getting all the tar off the rear wheel, number plate and rear painted panels after washing it, but didn't have to today.:beerjug:

I've also been using their chain cleaner. Spray on, leave for 15 minutes, agitate slightly with a chain brush, and the chain comes up like new (7200 miles on the clock).

The first two pictures are of the clean chain, the third is after a liberal coating of lube. They even do a plastic guard for the can, so you don't spray the whole bike with lube!

FFS, it's a chain on a fuckin motorbike, it is not meant to look like your mothers silver tea set!! Modern chains will last for ages. Just leave it and get BMW to clean it at service time. When it's fucked then get them to replace it.

I always bought PJ1 cos Kenny Roberts was sponsored by it :blast

Clean chain, no flingage - but does it lubricate???????

It says so on the tin so why should i doubt it ?

Like BMW telling me that the GS is a round the world adventure bike and the best in the world at it :D

Now at the risk of being serious, lubricate may not be the correct word in its purest form as the SDOC chain lube seems to contain various stuff PTFE being one of them and some sort of advance adhesive to prevent fling etc

So lubricate or reduce friction, pick your terminology

I know PJ1 lubricates but it also flings a lot which is why on the recommendation of a tosser i sort of trust as he has the same bike as me ( albeit a slower one) I will try this stuff

I used this PTFE lub on the last chain drive bike I had (Triumph Tiger 800xc) & found it to be very good. The only downside I found was that it didnt seem to prevent corrosion & the outer link plates went rusty. I resorted to the occasional wipe with scottoil oil. Could have been the quality of the chain or not re-applying often enough or after a wet ride? See how you get on with it.
