Hi folks just a question as the nav v is new to me can it be used for off-road mapping so could be used for green laning etc showing byways etc to follow

If you install suitable maps, yes.

Could you suggest which maps would be suitable to use memory map files please ?

You will find that openstreetmaps have much more detail than the Garmin maps and will show most green lanes and byways

Link here Choose the Generic Routable (new Style) ones.
