Met a bunch of Irish bikers near Agdz, they were heading west towards Merzouga, Shay, Colm and John I think, Overlanders to Malaga and onwards

Start the return leg of the Wild Atlantic Way Charles and head North, up to Essaouira via Sidi Kaouki , (i pronounce it Sidi Cocoa?). fantastic place to chill with beautiful beautiful scenery. from there you could continue up the coast or swing a right in land for Marrakesh. if you go the main road to Marrakesh beware of speed traps, with radar guns. I was with some one once upon a time who was relieved of a couple of hundred dirham. have a great trip, must go back

Thanks for the tip, added Sidi Kaouki as a via point, planned Essaouira for tonight, was there once 9 or 10 years ago, good memories of the place, my father who was alive at the time was with me, fab fish restaurant in the port, lots of iconic pictures on the wall, can't remember its name but I'll know when I see it, see you later... Around 1900km covered in almost two weeks in Morocco, new options as green card/insurance extended for two weeks, could head north east through Marrakech and Azrou towards Oujda and back along the coast or go back south to Tan Tan ....

In Essaouira right now, allegedly in the same room/hotel that Jimi Hendrix stayed in back in the day, 350mdh a night, good value for sure, Agadir did not suit, 2 nights in the Beach Club hotel is not for hairy arsed bikers though a visit to "The jeans shop" was worthwhile, €23 for a fine pair of jeans, pampered myself in a local hammam that I know from previous visits, 200mdh for two hours, massage and hammam, all going well thank God, bike is on secure lockup just within the medina, €5 daily, enjoying the crack Day Crowe.... Keep her lit Charles,i really enjoy following your travels here and on Fb.

Great pics.

You're obviously not heading to Tan Tan so. Never been further south on the coast than Agadir but I believe it gets very flat & sandy.
My recommendation, if you have the time, would be the Dades and/or Todra gorges

Also, Cascade d'ouzoud, and particularly the roads to get there, are worth a wee detour

And then there's this stuff

As Tim says, don't do it alone ! Some of the sections are a bit soft :D

And my final recommendation, to chill for a night or two before you head back to Spain, is Chefchaouen. Lovely laid-back old town of blue painted buildings. Unfortunately I've no decent pictures but Google it..

Now feck off, I've work to do. And I'm not a bit jealous

Yeah, me neither as the pissing rain is a joy here in Kildare.

I just arrived home on Wednesday from a week in Morocco. I think I saw the Irish lads that you met in Agdz. They were going the opposite direction to me, so I didn't noticed the Irish plates, but I recognise the bikes.

As Jockser said, the gorges are nice and worth a look, but one tip: the "road" between Msemrir and Ait-Hani is not a road. It's a river bed. We had planned riding up one gorge and down the other, but when we got onto the "road" that joins them, it was like this:

That's one of the flatter parts where it was flat enough to stop and put down the side stand. It had rained a few days before we got there, so there wasn't much of a beaten path. It would be extremely difficult on anything heavier than the XR250 Tornadoes that we had. We got about 5km into it and realised that it was getting late and it would take us too long to travel the rest of the 35km to the other side and decided that it was safer to turn back.

I was in Chefchaouen the first time I was in Morocco, about eight years ago. It's definitely worth a visit; it's very picturesque.

Thanks for all the pictures Charles. Am following the blog with interest, in anticipation of being there in 11 days. Pat.
