I've noticed a few times lately that the temperature on the RID is cutting out as the engine gets hot (96 1100gs). On the commute into work in the morning all is fine until I nearly arrive, the last couple of miles being heavy/slow traffic, when there is no display. At hometime, everything is good again but if the traffic is bad it cuts out and then when I hit the open road with more cooling, it comes back on again.
Has anyone else experienced this? Is this likely to be a fault with the sender unit or the RID? Or is it a case of just cleaning all the contacts and see if that cures it - I did have an issue with the fuel gauge which wouldn't register full and a few squirts with some contact cleaner at the connection under the tank cured it.
