R1150GS noise continues after ignition off

Hi all, I pulled up to park the GS for the night, turned the ignition off and this whirring noise continued. I tried to find where it was coming from and it looks like some metal contraption under the tank (I'm very new to the GS).

It continued whirring until I disconnected the battery.

Oh and my ABS didn't seem to kick in, it's normally a bit off and on but it didn't work at all this time.

Sounds like what you can hear is the servo stuck on.. that or the fuel pump are the only things to make any noise really.

Sounds like servo. Check your brakes in case the lever/pedal is stuck on.

The OP has said the noise continues after the ignition is turned off and he had to disconnect the battery to stop the noise.

So the fault may lie in the ignition switch area/wiring.

OP, does the noise commence when you reconnect the battery?

Fuel Pump relay contact stuck on?

The Horn relay is likely of the same type and if so swap the relays over to test.

The poster doesn't say what year his bike is, which would help . Sounds to me it's a pre-servo bike and it's the abs modulator relay stuck on - the relay is in the modulator accessable behind plastic cover where the wiring enters the unit.
