Hi All,

Bit of a last minute plan been hatched by me and a mate to nip off for a few days to the Beacons later this week. (1150Gsa and

nice old Africa/Twin)

Obviously there is tons of info on this forum to read but a bit short of time to trawl through it all, so can you help us with some

experienced advice please.

We are camping first night on the coast near Aberystwth and then heading across via Elan Valley to the Beacons.

Can you recommend a good route from Aberystwth to and around the Beacons taking in the best of the views. (From fast A roads to single tracks etc

but need to keep it easy because were on big heavy bikes, fully loaded with camping gear !)

Also any suggestions of a good Camping site to base our selves ?

Hope to have 2/3 days exploring !!

Any suggestions much appreciated.

Many thanks :thumb2

No idea about campsites but there are loads in the Usk Valley between Brecon & Abergavenny. Talybont on Usk is a good base and has a choice of pubs.

That link doesn't work for me Wessie.

+1 for Talybont though. There's a campsite there and also I think the White Hart has a bunkhouse. Lovely place and right underneath the Beacons too.

There is a cracking single track road from Machynlleth to Staylittle. It continues past LLyn Clewedog and on to LLanidloes.

Hi Chaps,

Thanks for your advice and Wessie for the route suggestions, much appreciated :beerjug:

Cheers
