UKGSer 'Dent event' Friday 19th - Sunday 21st May 2017

What boils my piss is the fact that some bright spark said he was coming to The Great Dent Event, ordered a polo shirt (and paid for it) didn't come, didn't tell me he wasn't coming. I PM'd him on the 22nd thanking him for his lack of communication and I would post the shirt to him if he gave me his address ... he's been on here yesterday but still can't be arsed to reply or communicate :nenau

There were a few who said they were coming but didn't ... and didn't bother to let anyone know :blast

That's all folks .... mini rant over. Carry on regardless :thumb

:beerjug:

Don't let twats like that spoil what sounds like a great event.:thumb

There's always one or two.

Looks like it was a real nice weekend, had half a notion to go as I have s friend in area (west witton), but turns out I wouldn't have been able to make it anyway. I passed by that railway viaduct/bridge last year, I thought it was derilect, nice to see its being used.

Don't worry. The kingdom of Cork was well represented by Deckie and the lovely Theresa:aidan

Jeez Kulu really IS a hippy :D

Never trust the buggers, never trust 'em.............

Andres

I could come down on my '95 H-D FXSTC next year if you really want to see a cool bike and turn up to party with us!

A few of mine:

Who said Kev didn't bring his bike with him...

The sun shines on the righteous

Steam power;

'It's got a 20 litre tank, yer know...' :D

Oh shit!

Listen up folks ...

Nice one Fran ... :thumb

The Great Dent Event was never meant to be fund raising concern for the Air Ambulance.

But JB, myself, and others had had a great time at the Bellingham Weekends and when we learnt that that wasn't going to be run again we got our heads together ...

Well yes, Bellingham was a great location, but we're from Yorkshire ... so where :idea

D E N T we both agreed :thumb

I'd organise the basic event, JB the runs out from base :thumby:

It clearly became obvious that it would be well supported, for it really is an ideal place. Two hotels doing B&B, good food and bier, B&B and a cafe in the village, great campsite, superb amenities, run by Kommander Herren Frau Margareet ;)

The rest is history ... so to speak ...

We pulled a couple of raffle prizes out to be auctioned off ... I'd heard rumours that certain people would bid for them ... bid for them they did :thumb

With the donators permission ...

The model tractor and trailer made £77.00 thank you Barney
The Touratech 35L 'Adventure' dry bag made £40.00 thank you PeterNI
The BMW jacket from Marshall's raised £50.00 thank you Mr Smooth aka John Sprigg
The out of print 'desirable' map of the Grande Alpes donated by Andrew & Julie made £11.50 ... thank you Khulu :thumb

As an aside the auction made £178.50 above and beyond the raffle prizes

As an aside aside ... Khulu immediately lost his much coveted map, chased round the campsite looking for it, had everyone looking for it ... found it in his sleeping bag, tried to pay Sue (Gracie) and me three times for it ... he'd already paid :D

:beerjug:

Kev's (Norm) Bier Kegs and glasses on the table raised a minimum of £230.00 ... thank you Kev :thumby:

People tossed crispy folding ones in to the pot ...
Others too, if I forgot your names then my apologies. The money still went in though :thumb
It was fast and furious at times ... and I can't multi task :rob

Rosie (Giles)
Fran and Tony (Magnet and Harry The Cat)

Thank you :kissy2:kissy2

Thanks too to John Mullen, RedRick and Norfolk Tiger who have donated (via PayPal to me) for The Great North Air Ambulance ...

Thank you guys, the first pint is on me :thumb

So while the UKGSer 'Dent Event' was never planned to be a money raising concern, it just seems to have turned out that way. What with the free coasters and decals I get made (read 'Blackmail induced'), the ability to cadge raffle prizes (dates back to organising kids parties and dinner and dances in the 1960's in the West Riding Constabulary) The sheer generosity of you UKGSer guys'n gals, both in donating raffle prizes and THEN buying umpteen pounds worth of raffle tickets ... I salute you :bow

Looks like £1,257.90 in to The Great North Air Ambulance kitty :thumby:

This figure could be greatly increased when The Bear gets his paws in to his paddypocket :D

Not heard from Rocket Ron, no idea why he was pissed off :nenau
Five minutes after I posted telling him to fuck off he 'phoned me saying I couldn't tell him to fuck of ...

... so I told him to fuck off. I'd got better things to do on a Sunday afternoon :D

Thank you guys'n gals of UKGSer :thumby:

Thanks JB :thumby:

:beerjug:

I arrived Thursday and stayed until Sunday and every day there was a pleasure due to the company.

Thank's to Norm for the beer, it was delicious mate  and in fact thanks to all who donated prizes all helping to raise an amazing amount of cash for the YAA. :clap
