Okay, so, you know when you buy something off ebay because its cheap ? And it winds up costing you an endless bloody fortune ? Well I have done that, so after the MOT fail which needed "just a brake cylinder" cost me almost £900, its now apparent thanks to the good BMW machine, that my N reg 1100GS has a failed rear ABS sensor. Which apparently is another £400 worth ! Sigh.
Now, heres a thing, I haven't even ridden the bloody thing yet. So, do I quit while I'm behind and get shot and get a better one, do I get it fixed, or do I get rid of the ABS altogether ?? Apparently, the ABS isn't much anyway, but as I say I've not ridden this, or any other GS......or any other bike for near 30 years !
One of the things that appealed about this bike was the ABS, having spent those 30 years off bikes, I felt that ABS might be an advantage for me in my dotage (now 51), but if this is just the thin edge of the wedge, then I am wondering what to do !
Please, can anyone help me, be you a GS1100 rider or another BMW kind of guy ! Anyone ???
