Looking at one of these .....

I have used Scottoilers in the past, but they have not always been reliable with the vacuum valve failing on occasion. It was a real knack to get it adjusted just so, to make sure you didn't have oil everywhere.

I was browsing and came across these which look quite tidy and not out of place on the bars, especially if you have a clutch operated by cable and no fluid reservoir on that side.

As I don't do high mileage as I once did on a daily basis commuting, especially on my sports bike, this system would appear to fit the bill. I quite like the suggestion to activate it after every refuelling as a reminder. That would work very well when doing longer tours abroad, and save with any real need for maintenance whilst travelling.

Here is a video of it fitted and operating ...

My question is - has anyone had any experience of using one or seen it in the flesh? The reservoir looks quite tidy, but would it look out of place on my awesome stead sports type bike :nenau

Priced at £99, so would be looking to make bulk buy to try and make a bit of a saving, I already have a couple of interested parties. :)

I've got two and am really pleased with them. They are really well engineered and very easy to fit as there is no splicing into the bikes vacuum or electrics.

The first was fitted to a CB500X which has a fuel range of 250miles but using normal blue Scotoiler oil it didn't look oiled enough so I activate it at half a tank as well, red Scott oil seems to last longer but I got a bottle of gear oil, which is recommended, when I picked up the secend unit and will try that soon. Second has just been fitted to a 200 Vanvan but I have only triggered it once.

I'll stick some photos up soon.

If you're looking at a bulk deal you had best deal with Jaws Motorcycles who are the UK importer.

Cheers

Mark

Hi Mark,

Thanks for the response. Looks good and your info re experience is helpful, but as I normally fill up on the sports bike every 130/140 or so miles it doesn't sound as if I'll have the issues you do with such a big tank range.

I was going to use gear oil, as that is what I currently use on my chains anyhow.
