It's always handy to see what peeps have done, maybe where they've got stuff from etc etc.

I'll kick off ..... (I-phone pics i'm afraid .... :D). A lot of this stuff has come from the 1190R and has fitted straight over ...

A couple of Christmases ago my kids bought me anodised tops for fluid reservoirs for the 1190. They still fit ....

Hammerhead are a US company that make levers to the size of your feet. Probably a bit over the top but I was struggling to find an aftermarket gear lever for the 1190. I found that as the stock lever sat on the splines it was either a few mm too high or if I lowered it, a few mm too low. I gambled on this and it's pretty much perfect.

'Quad lock' are a good make of smart phone mounting systems. Useful for tom tom satnav's on yer phone or music or whatever ...

3m helicopter tape from Amazon on the trellis frame where my bots rub.

SW Motech tank bag with Filler cap ring thing. very secure and ideal for day to day stuff like sunglasses, wallets etc ..

The Tutoro chain lube kit I had on the 1190 has fitted on here seamlessly ...

I've taken the charcoal brick thing out of it's holder, binned the holder, and put the brick thing back. It's just created enough room now for a stop 'n go plugger kit ... (with it's holder thing, no chance .. )

<a href="https://gileslamb.smugmug.com/1290/i-HkPVjZx/A"><img src="https://photos.smugmug.com/1290/i-HkPVjZx/0/2816c870/L/IMG_1555-L.jpg" alt=""></a>

Tweaked the rear brake lever in terms of height ...

<a href="https://gileslamb.smugmug.com/1290/i-SLKPPq3/A"><img src="https://photos.smugmug.com/1290/i-SLKPPq3/0/f05bf2c3/L/IMG_1551-L.jpg" alt=""></a>

And finally (for the moment - rad grill protectors etc etc to come ...) have fitted kreiga luggage straps to the rear frame.

https://kriega.com/accessories/os-rack-loops

These are actually really good. Very strong (the rear fairing is equally strong and I have no qualms about their suitability) and ideal for a day bag with whatever you want. I keep a baby compressor in there to go hand in hand with the stop 'n go kit ..

It does involve drilling the frame, but once on, they'll never come off.

The little button has a thread that self taps into your 6mm home from underneath ..

<a href="https://gileslamb.smugmug.com/1290/i-S35QJdD/A"><img src="https://photos.smugmug.com/1290/i-S35QJdD/0/07609d97/M/IMG_1537-M.jpg" alt=""></a>

and then the top screws down sandwiching the fairing in the middle...

More to come with possible de-cats and rad protectors ...

:thumb2

Oh .... and the Wings exhaust slipped straight on in about three minutes ... !

I've not seen a huge amount of aftermarket stuff for the 1290, so haven't gone too mad, yet.

Mods so far are:

KTM extended rear rack (keeps soft luggage off the rear seat)
KTM tankbag
AltRider side stand foot
Garmin 660 powered mount, so I can use the Nav 6 on this bike

I've ordered some orange anodised bits, which I'll fit this week, but top of my list of things to change is the screen, as I'm getting quite a bit of buffeting over 80mph, in most positions. The dealer reckoned that the R screen is only about £40, so I'm going to order one to try.

The other bit of 'luggage' that I wouldn't be without is a handlebar bag. I've had one on my GS's for years, and you can fit a surprising amount in. As my Wunderlich one from the GS doesn't fit, I had to buy a Touratech one, which is shite quality in comparison, but good enough for what I need.

Those Class A's that you confiscate off the crims Giles, you're supposed to hand them in to the desk sargent as evidence not bloody neck them yourself!!!

And as for you Nutty I'd expect no better :blast

Andres

Very nice; I can't wait to get away on mine.:beerjug:

I've ordered the R tinted screen and some bar risers today, so hopefully they'll eliminate the buffeting/ shoulder ache on longer days in the saddle.

And, inspired by Giles, some orange CNC parts.:augie:D

Thanks, it was great fun.
Lovely to have so much power. Excellent handling and great comfort.
I agree with Paddy, the seat is a bit hard, but we were doing 250 - 300 miles a day and it wasn't too bad!

Another pic, just for fun :)

Anyone found any decent CNC levers/ pedals (other than the cheap Chinese shite on eBay)?
