Has anyone got a name and email address for the Motorrad Manager at Vines in Guildford? Could you PM it to me?

Cheers guys, Things are in motion now. Apparently theres been a complete change from Germany in the warranty repairs on corroded bikes. They wont replaced whole engine units for example and expect the dealer to spend 20 hours rebuilding them, removing the rusty bits..... They also have to do an individual claim for every component, not for the bike !! I've got 9 components... poor buggers.

What a great way to keep customers, and the dealers happy.:blast

Having spent the last few weeks enjoying Austria's finest, I'd seriously consider jumping ship from BMW if I had to go through all this corrosion shite.

Corrosion .... this might help your case

Back in Feb, With cash in hand to buy a pre rge bike I took a demo GSA bike out for a ride from a well known dealer just outside of London.
Mileage less than 900 miles, so not even 1k yet.
It was a 2017 model Euro 4 reg'd Sept 2016.

This was the state of this dealer owned machine.

Needless to say I didn't buy it. I said that the only way I would consider buying it was if they replaced all the corroded parts. Nope they won't be doing that.

When I said that this bike was a disgrace to not only BMW but the dealership, the response was that it got thoroughly washed once every week.

I've seen dealers washing bikes.... and i am sure it's bad for the machine, a lot of the time they use a chemical cleaner of some description, then blast it with a jet wash and with repeated use what effect to chemicals designed to remove grease and road film really do to the bike...:nenau. Whenever i take a bike in i insist that they do not clean it - i can make a better job without compromising the bike.

This was the state of my own 7 year old 36k GSA.

WTF is a dealer thinking of when they present a machine like that!

How does that give confidence to prospective buyers when the signs are that visible? No point in spending thousands on Re branding dealer show rooms if your front door advertisement is a rusty bike.

Reckon it was cleaned regularly with a fairly aggressive cleaner like Muc-Off, and left to soak in the chemical. Pretty poor show, all the same.

I don't think my dealer has the time to wash my bike, but if they did I'll be taking this advice.

However, I come back to PR, Marketing and the time and millions it takes to position said brand, for some dopey dealer to screw it up.

Coming from that industry I'd love to share that insight with Mr Bavaria. In fact the last business I worked for 10% of bonus was influenced by a Net Promoter Score which is basically the likelihood of a customer to recommend the brand to a friend.
