SWMBO's new bike

Picking up a 650 GS for SWMBO this afternoon...

2000W 17K panniers, engine bars, topbox, FSH, new tourances and recent chain and sprockets...and a new Touratech tankbag

Looks tidy too.. £2600.... Think thats not a bad price


Want to do an oil and filter change asap...

The question is... Which oil? Will it run nicely on GTX magnatec like the 1150?

No!

It will shag the clutch. Use proper motorcycle oil.

Congrats on the 650!

Oil; it is a lot to say about oil, but what is the first thing to know?

Syntetic or minaral is not THAT important, and I don't want to get in a discussion about that here.
But:
You need to know is there a dry or wet clutch on your bike?
If you use exstra slippery oil for your wet cluth it won't work!

So:
BMW one cylinder, 650 ccm Rotax engine = wet clutch.
BMW's boxers and K's (except the new K1200S!) = dry clutch.
BMW K1200S and BMW K1200R = wet clutch.

I love my Rotax, my Scarver!

When you fill oil on a Rotax:
First some oil, close, start engine for a sec, open and add the rest of the oil.

Hi Liv! not too many Scarvers round these parts....

Just been up to my local BMW dealer for a sump plug...

got a bit expensive......

Bought a Tourance Jacket and Trousers for Wifey

And i had a pair of Rallye trousers.... :gosh

Bread and water for the next month then!

On the oil front filled it with Castrol GP
