So I apologise if this is a bit spam like, but the new issue of RiDE hits the shops tomorrow with a revised Guide to France. This has taken quite a long time to build up, with old routes being refined and new routes being created based on suggestions from some members here as well as my usual sources (mostly French bike testers and ex-pat British riders living over there). There are 93 day-trip rides, cross-country routes to get to key locations, as well as 13 tours of varying lengths/destinations so there's something to suit all preferrences (apart from off-road: it's all tarmac).

Which bits of France are covered?

In essence, though, you should be able to find a route to suit you. As before, the routes are supported by GPX downloads from:

I have created this single post sticky for this latest offering from RiDE magazine, locking it in the process. Hopefully it will become the 'Go to' source of choice for riders looking for good ideas to crisscross France and traverse the Pyrenees by.

My thanks to Simon W, the editor of RiDE for making the website and downloads available for free. Use them and, if you enjoy them, tell us and - more importantly - tell RiDE!

That eight day Pyrenees route looks excellent, I've downloaded it and it is going to be our 2018 trip :thumb

If anyone has downloaded all of the .gpx files, then it would be nice if they could host them in Dropbox for use by the collective. Thanks

Yes, they are indeed easy to download. However, if you download them all with the intention of putting them into a 'Ride France 2017' folder in Basecamp (as per the map in the original post), you will find that the file naming is not consistent and, indeed, the route numbering in the magazine is not the same as the route numbering used for the downloads. I ended up spending quite some time editing the file numbering and naming to make it easier to cross-reference with the magazine

As an aside, does anyone know whether Ride took on board Wapping's earlier comments/suggestions re sufficient shaping points etc to ensure that the routes that are downloaded to BC are the routes that Ride intended?

We are staying at Pyrenees motorcycle tours in September, can't wait:cool:

Only really stayed on the Spanish side before and that was a few years ago:blast
