    Suzuki: you did say.
    You're dead right about cables.
The throttle is the one cable i'm fussy about - i could bodge something for the clutch or choke, but i'd be fecked if i broke a throttle cable god knows where!
Keep going Ash - it's looking good.

    Thanks Pat..

GT85,a gallon of Gunk, cheap Artists paint brushs via eBay ( for touching up )
All the family's old clothes ( rags), all there old news paper's & cardboard to cover the bike lift...

And so many hours trying to get bits off / on with my u/s body especially my hands wrists.

Trying to get the main stand washers & springs on was a reet bitch yesterday evening ..

But so worth all the aches & pains, it's also good for the soul & realistically that not expensive.

Biggest cost will be for the bespoke throttle cables made by Venhill @ £63...
I use a cheap ratchet strap attached to the end if the spring with a cable tie or S hook. Tie the strap to the back of the bike and pull the spring.

Great service they state 7 - 10 days turnaround & mine were ready in 8 including a w/end.
Bear in mind these are one off bespoke cables, not of the shelf jobbies.

And delivered back UPS next day delivery..

Luckily I saw it b4 I bid on it & bid accordingly.
It certainly wasn't " excellent condition " as listed on eBay

As you can see in the pictures on this thread.

But having had one b4 & refreshing / overhauling Guzzies I'm aware of the pitfalls.

I knew this one was good underneath just not as listed IMHO

Luckily I took a picture of the V5C & contacted the previous owner who owned it from 1995 to 2017 from 9.5k miles upto the 35K miles on it now, so now know it history.

Proper Guzzies are built like Airhead BMW's so as long as they ain't sat at the bottom of the sea should be rebuildable...
