Might get a new rack made, but if it works OK then maybe not..

A most odd rack & the way it mounted, but it came with the bike & time us against me at this point.

    Mandello del Lario next week..

Trouble is with the rear end, is Guzzi never designed it to have a top box & the rear end is 99% plastic.

As in the brochure piccy below.

    What a brilliant thread.

Buying a bike that's decades old, a really interesting refurb with a focus on repairing rather than replacing , then an adventure through some stunning parts of Europe.

Brilliant, really enjoying it, thank you and good luck with the rest of the trip.

    " I dared to dream "

My goal was to ride with my old riding partner.
    ( b4 my RTA in 2003 )
To Mandello Del Lario to the moto guzzi factory (on a Guzzi if possible) , sadly for me the Convert didn't work with my disabilities.

And with a very short time to go IE 16/07/17.

I hastily bought this SP3 as in post one on this thread - above.

    Convert winter project thread -

    http://www.ukgser.com/forums/showthr...efresh-project

Here I am 06/09/17 at the Guzzi factory...
    With my mate & his Lemon MK V ( Pictures 2 & 3 )

    Picture 1 is from 2003..

Phil still had his Lemon MK V & mesen on another SP3 having sold my original one when all the medical bods said I would never have any right shoulder use, no left wrist use & both lower limbs smashed to bits, but dispite very limited lift or power in my shoulder & total wrist fusion in my left wrist & now wearing a wrist splint on my right hand m wrist + lots of non working parts. So no driving let alone ever ride again..

I somehow managed to freshen this bike up ( after doing the Convert ) & ride it from Le Havre to Mulhouse 450 + miles day one, into Switzerland & 4 mountain passes day two.
then ride to the factory on day 3...

It would be so much easier to just give in & do Feck all, but I think that would be the end if me.....

Hopefully I will update this thread with some factory visit piccies.
During the 3 day open house event to celebrate the V7 50th year.
As I take then in the next 3 days...
